Rare Birds is an exhibition of metal sculpture and furniture by female artists and
fabricators from Vancouver and its vicinity. It will be the first time in the history of
British Columbia that such a sizable group of women who work professionally in this
traditionally male dominated medium have been assembled together to showcase
their talents. Rare Birds will celebrate the evolution of women's roles and status as
well as our society as a whole. The exhibition will take place under Vancouver's own
gem, Alan Storey's giant stainless steel Pendulum.
